Abstracts submitted to the National Special Education Congress must be prepared in accordance with the submission guidelines specified below. Please note that if the abstracts do not comply with these guidelines, problems may arise during the evaluation process.
General Rules
- Abstracts may be submitted in Turkish or English.
- Abstracts must be based on original work.
- Abstracts must be related to the congress theme and sub-themes.
- Preference is given to studies that have not been previously presented at another congress or published.
- Abstracts must comply with scientific ethical rules.
- Each author may submit multiple abstracts.
Abstract Length and Keywords
- Abstracts must be a minimum of 300 and a maximum of 500 words, excluding the title and keywords.
- A minimum of 3 and a maximum of 5 keywords must be provided for the abstract.
- Keywords should be selected to reflect the content of the study.
- Keywords should be listed in alphabetical order.
Abstract Structure
Abstracts are expected to include the following sections:
Title
The title should clearly, understandably, and academically reflect the content of the study.
Objective
The purpose, problem, or subject matter of the research should be clearly stated.
Method
The research design, participants, data collection tools, and analysis method should be briefly described.
Results
The main findings of the research should be presented.
Conclusion and Discussion
The main conclusions of the research, its contribution to the field, and any implications for practice should be indicated.
Note: In ongoing research, expected results may be presented instead of findings. Such studies are considered more suitable for the poster presentation format. In cases deemed necessary, the Scientific Committee may also evaluate such studies as oral presentations.
Formatting Rules
- The font must be Times New Roman.
- The font size must be 11 points.
- Line spacing must be single.
- Paragraphs must be justified.
- Tables, figures, graphs, and visuals should not be used in the abstract text.
- The abstract text should be written in clear and understandable academic language.
- When necessary, citations must comply with APA 7 rules.
Author Information and Blind Review
- Author names and institutional affiliations should only be entered into the abstract submission system.
- The abstract text must not contain author names, institutional affiliations, or any expression that could reveal identity.
- Due to the blind review process, abstracts must be prepared anonymously.
- Expressions that could reveal the author’s identity, such as project names, institution names, or acknowledgment notes, must not appear in the abstract text.
Ethical Rules
- For research requiring ethics committee approval, the necessary ethics committee approval must have been obtained.
- When required, ethics committee information must be stated in the full text.
- All studies must comply with scientific research and publication ethics.
- Studies containing plagiarism will be excluded from the evaluation process.
- Authors may be requested to submit an ethics committee document when necessary.

Example Abstract
Title
The Effect of a Peer Support Program on Social Participation in Students with Special Needs
Objective
The aim of this study is to examine the effect of a peer support program on the social participation levels of students with special needs.
Method
The study was conducted using a quasi-experimental design. The study group consisted of 12 students with special needs attending a public secondary school. The Social Participation Scale was used as a data collection tool. Data were analyzed using paired samples t-test.
Results
The findings of the study showed that the social participation scores of students who participated in the peer support program increased.
Conclusion
The results indicate that peer support practices are an effective intervention for supporting social participation in inclusive education settings.

Technical Deficiencies That May Affect Evaluation
The following issues may negatively affect the evaluation process of the abstracts:
- Lack of a clear research objective
- Insufficient method information
- Findings not clearly presented
- Absence of a conclusion section
- Failure to establish a relationship with the theme
- Lack of scientific integrity
- Failure to comply with submission guidelines
- Violation of the blind review principle
- Non-compliance with ethical rules
Important Note
Abstracts will be submitted through the congress management system. Abstracts should be entered into the relevant fields in the system; there is no need to upload a separate file.
